Mayan Ceremony honoring new baby.
We honour the arrival of a new baby into the world through a sacred Mayan ritual.
For the celebration, a bathtub filled with rose petals and holy water was specially prepared for the baby's blessings.
The godparents must accompany the parents. Symbolically, before the ritual starts, parents will hand the baby to the godparents, who will hold the baby during the ceremony.
The godparents will hold the baby in the water while the Priestess prays in Mayan to bless the baby. After the prayers, the godparents give back the baby to the parents. It is a symbolic and protective act, named godparents as companions in the caring and teachings of the new family member.
